Rules and Guidelines
Monthly Contests

  1. Each month there will be a Poetry contest.
  2. Each month Poetry Guild will set a Designated Theme or Open Theme.
  3. All entries must be original work.
  4. Do Not Plagiarize:
    transitive senses: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source
    intransitive senses: to commit literary theft : present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source

  5. If you are caught taking using (stealing) another poets or lyricists work or submitting work that is not original then the piece will be removed from the Guilds without notification.
  6. Once a poem is submitted it can not be resubmitted a second time
  7. There will be one winner per month chosen by an impartial judge unless otherwise stipulated.
  8. The winner each month will receive an Award.
  9. The judges also decide on Honorable Mentions.
  10. The number of Honorable Mentions each month will be left to the discretion of the judges
  11. At the Anniversary Ceremony each year there will one winner chosen from all the monthly winners for the year for the conveted title of "Poet of the Year".
