When you wake up on that fateful day
And rush out of the door in you pajamas,
To shout out into the world
‘Happy Christmas Day!’
Afterwards you sit by the tree
With it’s twinkling lights and magical sounds,
Listening to carols and songs
While sitting there sipping some tea.
Soon you begin to feel a slight pull
As family arrives with presents and love,
Talking and laughing till dinnertime
Followed by stuffing your faces until you’re way past full.
As the sun sets and the moon rises
You lay your head down on top of your bed,
And begin to sleep until a new day
Filled with turkey leftovers and cleanup of your prizes.
