Seconds

~By Sirithnilwen Greenleaf-(Emma) Soul

For those brief, fleeting seconds
I was yours, you were mine.
We were never apart;
I was on cloud nine.
Our bodies were two,
but our minds were one
In those few seconds
Before you were gone.

In those quick, few seconds
I lived and had flown.
I loved you, you knew it
It was often made known.
You were my king,
My own Number one.
In those few seconds
Before they were gone.

Now those quick, flying seconds
Are over, no more.
You left oh so quickly
My feet left the floor.
My heart split asunder,
I sat, knowing none:
In those few seconds
After you had gone.
