Matter Over Mind

My mind screams not to love you
Tells me this will never work
It'll only result in pain and hurt
But I can't help these things I do
My heart says to love
To let you see my soul
To keep nothing from you
To allow you into my spirit
And wrap you in the flame
Maybe I'll scream out in frustration
Perhaps I'll cry, lay down and die
And yet
When I look into your trusting eyes
Breathe in your sweet scent
I leave my mind behind me
I follow my heart
