My Heart

~By Buck Murray

The Ocean rumbles in a different way
The waves have become smaller
The sound has become sadder
I no longer smell the salty fresh air

The trees no longer sway
They only stare at me, motionless
I know I can no longer stay
I feel the bark of the now unwanting trees They no longer shed their leaves
All because of me

The world has obviously changed
For the better in other's eyes
Only I can not change.
I hold onto the past
Like a deathgrip on life
The rain follows me endlessly
Letting me know
That inside, I am not alive.

So I will listen
To the sad, silent waters
To the cold, unforgiving air
So this place, I must depart
Only to return with my dearest wish,
The one, my heart
