True Love
~By Elly
True love isn't real,
Just a story or a tale,
Of something that you feel,
Of that which doesn't fail.
That parent's tell their children,
So they can sleep at night.
True love isn't real,
just a fading light.
True love isn't real,
Just some empty lies,
Of a heart to steal,
Of those happy sighs.
That poets write poems about,
So they'll have food to eat.
True love isn't real,
Just a grim defeat.
You see,
True love isn't real,
From a cynic's point of view,
I used to be a cynic,
That's when I met you.
