The Lonely Voice

There's a devil that whispers in my ear,
He tells me what I want to hear,
So in my dreams I'm holding you,
Although I know it isn't true,
Nothing ever lasts forever,
But we're like doves in flight together,
And I would give my heart away,
To stay in flight for one more day,
Instead the stars refuse to shine,
I hear the voice that says your mine,
But all the clouds refuse to rain,
And I can't even wash away my pain,
Tonight I put this mind to bed,
While thoughts of you fill up my head,
Knowing when I wake alone tomorrow,
Still I'll have this same old sorrow
