So still and unmoving,
A cold piercing and silent,
Holds my breath at bay.
The sound of darkness,
Echoes on my mind,
I hear nothing and everything.
Moving my hand forward,
Its reflection leers at me,
A mirror in my life it seems.
Clutching an unseen object,
A beat followed by a beat,
Repeat and replenish.
Such a shock to my mind,
As a kink in the armor,
Of my soul left intact.
I see far ahead now,
The resounding clash gone,
Warmer and warmer days ahead.
No mirror to hide the path,
Must it be this way,
Shall I ever find my day?
