Ruby Holiday
~ By Black Velvet Kiss
The dark road I'm traveling down is filled with twilight tonight.
We're speeding away on a cloud of air with no place to go but anywhere.
From the first day I saw you, you melted the ice off my heart.
And years from now I'll know I'll feel the same way for you as I do now.
Cause the stars are twinkling now and the earth stood still the moment you
reached for my hand.
Time is on our side and lies frozen like glass.
I'm trying to be brave but I'm just afraid that you'll vanish before my eyes.
I feel safe lying in your arms living on a ruby holiday.
Don't look now, danger's all about and it's coming for you and me.
A tornado sweeps us up and spins us around till I can't see you no more.
I'm running fast and screaming your name over and over again.
With arms outstretched, eyes downcast and bearing a heavy heart.
Here I am, black as night, lost in a world of despair.
I'm unworthy of your love, but please come back to me, my angel.
Without you, I can't go on, I can't win and I can't see the sun.
In a flash, you're back with me kissing and saying goodbye.
Our love exists only in a dream.
This realm lives only in my mind, seeing it's death in morning's glow.
We can't stop what's happening now.
The streetlights are bright, the moon is dead and my fantasies will fade away.
For your eyes and lips weren't meant for me.
Your radiance belongs to someone else.
In day's light, I catch your glance smiling at me across a room.
And if perchance you should feel as I do.
Then believe me when I say that I love you.
