We have to tell them

"Chakotay...I've been thinking," Kathryn said, as she rolled over to face him.
"Uh-oh--that's not usually a god thing. What about?"
"We have to tell them."
Chakotay squinted his eyes. "Tell who?"
She looked at him with that look she usually reserved for Tom Paris. "The crew, of course."
"Now? It's 0200, Kathryn. They'll be asleep."
Kathryn sighed and shook her head. "Not now. Tomorrow. Next week, even. But we have to tell them soon."
Chakotay propped himself upon his elbow. "Why now? This has been going on for how long now?"
"A long time, Chakotay."
He sighed. "But why? Why can't we just keep this to ourselves."
She propped herself upon her elbow, mirroring him. "We're taking a huge risk as it is. It's a good idea to tell them."

He stared at her. "You're feeling guilty, aren't you?" He smiled.
She averted his gaze and smiled back. "Was it really that easy to tell?"
"Your eyes tell all."
"As if yours don't!" She snorted.
"I never said they didn't. Seriously, though, if we tell them, we'll have to share."

"Chakotay, do you seriously think we can finish it all?!" She exclaimed, as she surveyed the large boxes, containing chocolate and coffee from the McParians, which were scattered around the room.
"We've had no problems before."
"Maybe, but we've never had so much before!"
"Kathryn, if you tell the crew, they'll know their commanding officers are nothing but pillaging pirates!"
With a gleam in her eyes, she looked over every visible inch of his tanned skin--which was, to say, a lot of it. "I wouldn't say nothing but... and we're not pillaging pirates! We are skilled negotiaters who can get large amounts of caffine for a couple of bars of gold-pressed latinum!"
Which just so happens to be useless in this quadrant."
"Precisely." She thought for a moment. "But if you really don't want to tell them...it can wait." She kissed him on the lips.

He took her into his arms. "Tomorrow."
She looked up at him. "Or maybe the day after."
"Or the week after."
"Or the month after."
"Or when we get back to the Alpha Quadrant."
She grabbed a chocolate from one of the boxes and popped it into his mouth to silence him. "Maybe even never."

And they snuggled off to sleep.
