Post Doomsday

~By Nobbe

It is in these dark hours
That I see the darkest light
It fills the void between
The people standing on the pavement
While mists float, curling around legs
They gnaw at skin
Ripping it from bone
Not even leaving a drop of blood
For its licked the bones clean.

It is in these light hours
That I see the brightest light
It can't fill the void between
The skeletal remains
Of what used to be
And what should've been
The sun glints off the gold
And silver hanging round bones.

It is in these dusk hours
That I see clear light
It lets me see beyond
All that people hide from me
Yet I only see the past dreams
For I was the doomsday
The force that ended light
Now the world is dusting
And I'm left all alone
With only bone for company.
