Echo And Ice

~By Bria Terrik

Cold plains of snow and storm and ice,
Silence reigns under windswept skies.
Rebellion's fire, the brightest spark -
Forsaken this place, left only dark.
Loneliness echoes over the plains -
Memory, all that now remains -
Forever winter, remember the cold...
The spirit lived on, the tales are told;
The lives left here, the sacrifice -
The future, swept across the ice.
No mention made of the voids they left -
Empty caverns, a squadron bereft.
Haunting this bleak and desolate place:
Our memory, the snow-wraiths of Echo Base.
