Blacken

~By Obi-To' Kenobi

Blacken my eyes, I can’t go on.
Darken my heart, and say “So long”
The world is dim, that’s it for me.
I shut you out, I don’t want to see.

Stick me in a coffin, and nail it closed.
Burry me in a grave where no one knows.
I don’t want to lie, or live to tell.
This is my life, my private hell.

You let me live, now let me die.
I don’t want to be left alive.
You think you’re such a help to me,
My life is over, let me be.

Yet even aft’r the darkest night,
The sun comes up and brings forth light.
The black of night fades and is gone.
To the darkness say “So long”

Comments: This was originally a song, and had a very different ending. I wrote this at a time when a lot of stuff was going on, and it seemed a lot easier to die than to go on. Of course, looking back on it, I see that the sun eventually did come up.
