There's something in my closet,
But it's only awake at night,
And I can hear it scratching,
As soon as I turn off the light.
I know that it wants to hurt me,
To make me cry and scream in pain,
It's waiting there with patience,
So I know I'll never sleep again.
If I just hide under the covers,
Stay silent, and calm and still,
Then maybe I'll be invisible,
And it will find someone else to kill.
But I can hear it still scratching,
It's now louder and closer than before,
Now all I can think of is that,
I should of shut the closet door.
