The Darkened Corner
~By F. Character
They laugh and cry as we sit there and wait -
Nosebleeds start and stop as the lights grow hot.
Constantly alert: in a heightened state -
Always fearing the shame of being caught
In the light or lost behind all the rest.
Despite the risk still 'tis more fun than those
Boring jobs where the suits are pressed and
stressed
From nine to five until the businesses close
Their doors and phones and modems and their
thoughts;
Only for the night they are left in their own
world.
But not for those who missed their reality shots.
Day is night while time gets all twist and twirled
Pointing attention to aspects involved
Until the clock stops and all is resolved.
