He Left Her
~By Amanda Sielu Paris
He slammed the door shut
Packed all his bags
Started up that old car
If she wasn't even going to try
Then he had nothing left to fight for
She never ran after him
Let him drive away
She never even missed him
Buried herself in her work
It never even hit her
He left her
Before the heartache took over
He was Gone
No more to say
But so much left unsaid
So without another word
Without another fallen tear
He left her
As if he could hide it
Said he had to work late
Or have a night with the boys
Then he dropped the bomb
Twenty-seven years down the drain
She never tried to stop him
If he wanted the other woman
Then let him she thought
She threw her ring across the room
That's when she realized
He left her
Before the heartache took over
He was gone
No more left to say
But so much left unsaid
So without another word
Without another fallen tear
He left her
She'd take the hitting
She never even fought him
As long as it was only her
But then he lost it all
Hit their little boy
She packed their bags
He was past out again
He awoke to find no one
That's when he realized
After all the years
She left him
Before he could take another swing
She was gone
Nothing he could do
He drove her away finally
Alone in his misery
It finally hit him
She left him
Thank God he cried
Before he killed her
She left him
