Rebirth

I've often wondered my fate in life
to be born a child
fallen from grace
to be treated like dirt
from the moment of birth
I've often cried
a trail of tears
for love denied
I once begged for suicide
... glad not to take that ride
I shall not turn deaf ears and hide
feeling the strength within
something new is about to begin
