Yearning

~By Craig Mallon

I've pictured the scene a thousand times,
Never once found the courage to make it true,
I can make all these dreams reality,
If only I say three words to you,

I imagine your face so pretty,
The feel of your velvet skin,
Then I think of our friendship so precious,
Wonder if these thoughts are sin

Tell me what dreams your dreaming,
If you think the things that I do?
You once told me to go with my heart,
But did you know that it yearns for you?

When you leave I feel so empty,
Hide my sorrow as we wave our goodbyes,
We're so close but could be so closer,
Can't you see this love in my eyes?
