Quondam Winter
~By Melody Lee-Carte
I remember a winter, long ago
When the gentle wind, had whispers low
A voice that sang, with melody sweet
The song in my heart, was made complete
Such a peacefulness, was in the air
As silver lace danced, without a care
A lovely picture, was painted that night
At that moment, everything was right
It was perfect, as darkness drew nigh
Snow clad trees, stood audaciously by
The blaze from the moon, sparkled this night
The image glowed, in icicles bright
Winter kissed mountains, covered this view
Radiance glistened, with a brilliant hue
The stars shined bright, on the crystal pond
As if they were placed, by a golden wand
I've been captive, by this splendid scene
Where time had stopped, and was quite serene
I had to leave, that picture of lace
But I shall treasure, that beautiful place
