the paths of Time

~By thegreenknight

Walking down the street,
I see many faces unknown.
Sitting in a cafe for a treat,
they walk on by, into town.

Each has a mind, one alone,
yet, together we are more,
more than we have ever known.
Alone, we try to meet some more.

What are we? Who are we?
In what form shall we live?
These questions pester me.
Together we are like a hive.

Where can I find the answer?
Does God know that we don't know?
Some say we spread like a cancer,
yet, I say just let it snow.

Moving on down the river,
we see life flowing past.
It sends through me a shiver,
seeing a universe that is vast.

Faces in the street, water
in a lake, jostling for position,
down the stream, flows our mater.
Searching, searching for a sign.

We all move on our own,
yet we are all together,
moving on as if alone,
yet always moving forever
along the street of life,
the river that continually
flows, through pain and strife,
we find ourselves consistently
in the ways of God, and are mortal, for that is God's image,
our gift, that is our visage.

Sitting at the table, watching
life go by, I stand, join the flow
no longer caring about standing
by, but wanting to be in the show.
