A Solitary Man

~By Trekker

He walks alone at night moving ever so slowly through the dark and deserted corridors of his ship.

The Crew has often spoken to me about these walks, and yet, when asked he does not reply. Instead he looks at me blankly and with great skill changes the subject.

What secret does he keep? A secret that he cannot share... even with me.

What is it that makes him walk those darkened corridors all alone?

I think I know... he walks to ease his mind. The simpler exercise of placing one foot in front of the other keeps him from thinking...

He walks until exhaustion can take him into a dark world... a world without dreams.

I think I know... and tonight as he walks through those darkened halls I'll meet him and show him that he need not walk alone.
