They stare in distaste As I walk by. I held my head high, While inside I cried Shamed and disgraced. Why can't they see beyond my face Life isn't fair. My luck has yet to change. Lost and confused, Hurt and misused, Worthless in their eyes. I'll forgive their cruelty, But I'll reject their company. Memories will not allow me. Scars unhealed and unseen Are always there to remind me.
