Remembering 9/11

~By Unknown

A beautiful September morning
Unraveling like any other day
Birds singing their glorious praises
Beauty shining in every way

People heading off to work
Kissing their loved ones goodbye
Evil creeping up on them
About to be asking Why oh Why

Terrorists struck this glorious day
Etched forever in our minds
8:46 am becoming known
As the moment frozen in time

Hard working civilians
In the tall majestic towers
Going about their daily routines
Murdered by ruthless cowards

Planes used as deadly weapons
Filled with children, husbands and wives
Striking the heart of New York City
Forever altering numerous lives

Everyday citizens on Flight 93
Courageous to the bone
Bringing down Evil's mighty hand
With a resounding heroic tone

Firefighters and Police officers
Our saviors in every way
Saving many lives on end
Heavenly angels all would say

A firestorm at the pentagon
The heart of our military might
A failing attempt to break us
Bringing about a revengeful fight

September 11th is a day of infamy
With a multitude of heroic deeds
Embedded footprints on our hearts
A growth of patriotic seeds.
