Warm Amidst The Storm

As winter comes upon me
the cool breeze begins to blow
I snuggle by the fireplace
outside it starts to snow
I sit inside my cabin
hidden away in the woods
the ground's a blanket of white
where beautiful flowers once stood
The clouds begin to rumble
the winds are thrashing around
the snow is swiftly flying
and yet, there's hardly a sound
I look outside my window
the snow envelops my soul
a scene of frozen landscape
with icicles sparkling bold
I witnessed a wonderful mystery
where Mother Nature's reborn
I snuggle and pet my kitty
knowing we're safe and warm
