The End

I watched the end of the world last night,
Thunder crashed and lighting seared,
Burning through everything in sight,
So much more than everyone had feared,
We saw the end of the world last night.
I watched the end of the world last night,
The sky turned black, the sea turned red,
The earth shuddered under the fight,
The dead came to life and life became dead,
I cried at the end of the world last night.
I watched the end of the world last night,
Saw millions of dreams shattered and lost,
Saw the end of day the end of sunlight,
The ultimate truth, the ultimate cost,
I couldn’t stop the end of the world last night
I watched the end of the world last night,
Fleeing from the mistakes our people made,
Searching the stars that shine so bright,
For another home before our time fades,
We had caused the end of the world last night.
