Ten Forward a Decade Ago

~By Buck Murray

I came into the bar, a lonely child
Had some laughs, some tang,
I even had a little fame.

I gained a command code, and my very own phaser
I was a little kid in a toy store,
I made a lot of friends, and fought with enemies
To go back to those days, I'd give all of my pennies.

My closest friends came out of Ten Forward,
Robert Fox, Dax, Smile, and even Wesley Paris.
They talked with me when no one else would,
To pay them respect, I know I should

I am all grown up now, after about 9 years
I joined the service and had a few beers
I have learned a lot about life, and how to keep tryin'
I guess a lot of that comes from Guinan

I will never forget Ten Forward
I don't know if I will be back,
but it is my Cyberhome away from home, always a fact

I wanted to write all of my old buddies a poem,
all the women and the men
Thank you for the adventure, and I hope to see you again
