Never Be A Man

~By Torrie Huddleston (Selina)

I have never met this boy
who will never be a man.
He was shot with a gun,
to young to understand
that they produce no fun.
A bang, a boom,
soon in the hospital room.
A sweet, sleeping baby,
once loud
now quiet,
that little boy who will never be a man
may he laugh and play
and smile all day in his little piece of heaven.
(In Memory of Cody Bowder: The boy who will never be a man.)
