Love’s Enduring Price
~By Matt Russell
Do to me what must be done
Do to me what you may,
For I’ll accept anything you wish
If only you’ll send my baby back my way.
My beating heart
Can do nothing but long,
But I ask of you this
Are my feelings truly wrong?
Have you ever felt love
Have you ever felt Cupid’s nudge,
If you haven’t then I must ask
How can you just sit there and judge?
I am so wounded
And forced to be so lost,
What is the price to heal my heart
O whatever could it possibly cost?
Can my heart even be healed
Is such a thing still a reality,
If not then please don’t let me know
Please don’t chase this dream away from me.
For though her absence causes me pain
And makes me wish I were dead,
I do not want to forget our love
No I would rather endure this pain instead.
