The Road...

~By Aaron Weiskopff

22 years ago I took my first steps on the long road
As I walked this road I got bigger, smarter
I looked around me and people, places changed
And I got to the sign that said "End Of Your ChildHood"
And at the bottom it said "Welcome To Your Adolescence"
Then a little while along this stretch I got hit, by God
It was a wakeup call, you are not invincible
I spent a few months in this one spot along the road
Licking my wounds, then I began my long walk ahead
And as I walked into my Adulthood, I stand there Looking behind me, wondering how I had traveled this far But then I realized I haven't gone that far at all
I still have this long stretch of road in front of me
So now that I know what I know, and I have seen the real world
This road will get more interesting, and ever so dangerousM
But I will take care to be cautious, and I will travel farther
And when I reach the end of this road I will wait, with God
For all those traveling behind me...
