The Star-Blazing Space Hero From Chorlton

I was a Starship Trooper
An interstellar spaceman,
wiping out the threat from Mars, and Venus, and all
points west of Galactic Center . . .
With trusty blaster and laser sword,
I ploughed my furrow thru the stars, making my name
one to be feared -
"There goes the Mighty One! Back to base quick, lads!"
Then something happened.
I grew up.
I stopped playing - for a moment -
Then thought, "Ah sod it, saving the Universe is a
dirty business,
but SOMEONE'S got to do it!"
