You And I

You dance among my thoughts today,
I close my eyes and lose my way,
To dream you put your hand in mine,
And step across the dotted line,Memories rush through my head,
Of all the stupid things I've said,
And desperately I wonder how,
To tell you how I see you now,Like all dreams this soon shall end,
And then my mind must cease pretend,
That we are more than you and I,
Friends until the day we die
