Darkness All Around
~By Billus
I lie in wait, watching waves of Darkness,
I wallow in the pity in which I drown,
There is no moon to comfort me,
There are no stars to guide,
And I would soon embrace the night,
If I had nothing to confide.
I moan for much too many hardships,
I lean and sigh and say.
I'm walking through the streets,
Alone and still confused,
And I'd be making money,
If my service weren't refused.
I sleep, I dream dangerous darkness,
I cry when daytime comes.
There is no mystery,
In what we all may see.
There is no magic now,
That we all know how.
I lie in wait, watching waves of light,
I swim in the hope in which I'm found.
The daylight warms my hips,
Settles by my sleepy head,
As sun light kisses my lips,
My dream dragons lie dead.
