Great Pretender
~By Amanda Sielu Paris
He still lets her kiss him
But she's losing the fight
She can see it in his eyes
He's gone somewhere else
And his life with her, he just pretending
He's in another reality
A world of his own
Every day he slips further away
She pretends he's right there with her
But he's the great pretender
And she's lost another piece of him
He wishes he was somewhere else
So he plays it all out in his mind
She knows she's not in there
Instead of just letting him fly
She closes her eyes
There was a time when she was that smile
The one that melted his heart
Fed what his dreams were made of
Now all she is, she's the ties that bind
She use to tb ethe love that filled him up
But now he's just pretending
