It's That Time of Year

~By Alivan the Wizard

It's that time of year.
It always comes, over and over again.
With it comes great holiday cheer,
And good times with friends and family that are truly sincere.

Trees and homes are embedded with luminous lights.
The ground is covered with glistening snowfall that falls in the moonlight.
A chilly breeze flows through the icy trees,
While Carolers sing to everyone they see.

Stores are crowded with people from all over
Looking to find enough presents before it's all over.
In all the rush, sometimes people can forget
The true meaning of Christmas, which everyone should get.

Children lay restless in their beds at night.
All they can think of is the promise of presents in the morning.
They hope that a jolly man with gifts will come named Santa Claus,
And that they soon will hear the beating of his reindeer's paws.

Joy and glee fill everyone's hearts.
The Christmas spirit will never fall apart.

Soon; however, this time of year will be over.
The songs, the light, and the cheer will soon be but mere memories of the past.
So cherish this time while it lasts.
For it only comes once a year.

But until it's over, it's that time of year.
