Born To Be Me

I was born on an island
In the Bass Strait
To a wonderful couple
Whose love was embraced?
My Father a pipe layer
My Mother a Cook
Both worked hard for their money
To give us what they could
Love and attention
Trust and devotion
We built a family connection
A bond that has not broken
Now it's my turn to say thank you
For who I am today
You're not only just my parents
but my special friends
