A Flower, My Love
~By DeBoe
Blossoming love, the flower is a sight;
O, a sight to see! It is so lovely
Pluck it from thine ground, ‘fore it catches blight,
And rest it in a vase for all to see!
I save this flower, for I know, my love,
My love, will come back to me. When she doth
I give her the flower, remove my glove;
I stroke her hair, which feels of silken cloth
O! curséd me, who pushed my love away
How I had taunted her so mockingly
And I, For she is still gone to this day,
Am still so ashamed, and oh so lonely
Come back to me, my love, for you shall see
I will cherish thee, and always love thee
