Friends For Eternity

Friends for eternity is what we have become
Ever since that day in June
You said it threatened to storm
Be it in your soul or the world so wide
You were not sure you said inside

For me the world was quite dull
With very few rays of light in sight
That is until an Angel named Abbe
Introduced me to the rainbow
That is your friendship

That day, not only did we each
Make a friend for life,
But we created a deep understanding
Between each other

In my heart of hearts I feel
We complete each other’s lives
A simple conversation
Can brighten each other’s day

I think about you every day,
I keep a simple reminder close to my heart
Photo by my bedside in a frame so bright,
You and me together with smiles beaming bright

A picture of my best friend and me,
The big sister I never had
I am grateful for your friendship
Your advice, the never fading smile
Your merciless humour and infectious laugh
And the way in which you care

I thank the Lord above
On every single day
For the special gift he has bestowed upon me,
A best friend like you and the way in which
You brighten my life and day!
