Devotion

~By Dan

I look at you, standing there
With your stunning looks and your long, blonde hair
But it seems it was never meant to be
Why won’t you even look at me?

I think of you, wherever I go
And all I really want to know
Is what would you think, about me and thee
And would it ever be me who you’d see

I get encouraged, when you give me a glance
Could it be, that we could have a dance
Then I realise, it’s not me you look at
But the guy to the right, acting cool, in the hat

Each day that passes, makes me feel blue
When will the day come, where I get you?
My heart can’t take this for long
It just isn’t that strong

I have realised it is never going to come
So I have to accept, that this course has run
I will start to look for someone else instead
The love I have for you seems to be dead

So with a heavy heart I bid you farewell
Never of my heartache I will tell
Or how I have loved you so
I believe it is my time to go
