Gwen

~By Stalling526

Through lifes final window, shadows trail near their end
For a gentleman that lay tired, beyond in doubt of mend
Bring on no high priests, gullible fools of Amen
I wish only my companion, said he? of baby Gwen
For she had fetched me light, now shall I accept my demise
Bring her here this very moment, might she lay at my side
Leave her paw to my grasp, as my shutters close and melt
His request was fulfilled, and Gwen?s tear was what last he felt

Comments: I wrote this poem of my love for animals. In particular, canines (l've lived with them for fifty years)
