Faded

Berated and jaded
Fated not mated
Alone and aloof
Stressed to the roofI’ve been eight two times
Lived three more
I’ve been struggling with
Twenty-fourIt’s been a long, long time
Waiting for the rain to come
The clouds haven’t parted
But I don’t want to see the sunIt’s time I learned to see
Life’s just one big fallacy
Sew the sunshine
Add a pocket for only meFaded and tossed out
Hung up to dry
Ripped and kicking
Left out to crySearching for answers
Waiting for the rain to come
The clouds haven’t parted
But I don’t want to see the sunIt’s too late for youth
Too late for games
Too late to gain
Twenty four and fameTainted and feinted
Ready to rip loose
Threadbare and out there
Spread out in the wind
