Remembering You

Remembering you has not always been easy.
There's been alot of guilt and shame.
Tears silently cried.
Few good memories, often tainted with the bad.
On this day, I am always angry and sad.
Forced to hold it all in,
like a mirror cracked and nearly shattered.
Always looking for answers to questions never asked.
Scared that the answers are within.
Life is so much better than it once had been.
Yet, I'm afraid of hurting those closest to my heart.
Although you have dimmed slightly, you are always there.
So many things that time cannot repair.
Remembering you has not always been easy.
Yet, year after year...
