Faraway Friends

I may not be able to hold you when you need a warm embrace,
And when we talk you can't see the smile that spreads across my face
But I'll always be here for you, no matter what you do,
And it lights my darkest days knowing you'll be here for me to
With a single thought or a few kinds words you turn my mood around,
If only you knew how thankful I am for the friendship that we've found,
We might be kept apart by an ocean spanning so wide,
But I want you to know that in my heart i'm right there by your side,
If this life is a journey, I'll travel along with you,
Then every new sight we see will take a brighter hue,
And when you trip or stumble I'll try to break your fall,
No matter what we face we'll remain friends through it all
I can't thank you enough for helping me along,
Your kind words form a melody to the most caring song,
So this Christmas spare a thought for your friend afar,
And we'll stay friends forever, no matter where we are
