The Bend

There comes a time in every life
Where the road we're on must turn
And on that turn there's a risk of being hurt
But don't ever think I can't make it
Because I believe
I believe in who I am
So there comes goodbye to everything that was everyday
Every petty thing that seemed mudane
Each second taken granted cherished now
The ache of leaving behind
The thrill of what lies ahead
I'm not prepared
I'm not really ready
But somehow I know this is my path
One more bend on the road I'm on
And this is just one more turn
Taking all I am and all I was
I've made it this far because of who loved me on the way
I'll take it the rest of the way because of who I am
The pavement turned to gravel
No doubt it'll get rough
But I'll make around the bend
