Prisoner of the Sea

As I stand here searching
For my hidden past
The waves rise to greet me
To their sullen dance
Past the dark and dim
Below the bow and stern
Through dreams long shattered
Alas, a soul is finally free
Some say it is trapped
A prisoner of the sea
I say it is
