Counter Intelligence -
(mp3 file, 3.54
MB)
Counter Intelligence, March
2000
This is sort of an
aggressive song. I call the genre
Techno, but I have heard people
calling it a form of Drum&Bass.
I never know what to call my music
anyhow. On my computer I have
several directories in which I save
the songs I make, and most of it
ends up in the Miscellaneous
directory. Unless, like this song,
it has a 'computery feel'. Then I
put it in the Techno
directory. |
Kill It! - (mp3 file, 3.69 MB)
Kill It!, March 2000
Now this is Drum&Bass,
no doubt about that. It has
everything from the right drumloop
to the right bassloop, and to top
it off a whizzing synth pretending
to be a fly, or something like
that. Now this is the stuff i save
in my Drum&Bass
directory. |
Soft Like
Sweet - (mp3 file, 1.44 MB)
Soft Like Sweet, June
2000
And now for something
completely different. A waltz...
Yes indeed... After two up-tempo
drum&bass pieces, I present you
with a slow melody in 3/4 time.
Just trying to prove to myself that
I have musical skills. |

Wise words from PeeVee
|
Why am I
making music? A question I sometimes ask
myself. I mean, I'm not a great musician, and I
can usually express myself well enough by
drawing. For the answer, let's go back to the
time when I was twelve years old. I had just
gotten hold of a music program called OctaMED.
House music hitting the charts was something
new, and frankly, I liked it. So I though: "I
want to make that too!" And yes, indeed, ever
since I've been keeping myself busy trying to
create a few nice sounds. Okay, the music style
changed a little - mostly techno and
drum&bass - but the intention, to be able
to make professional music myself, never
did.
Why use a computer to make music? Well... To
be true... I can't play any instruments or read
music. I wanted guitar lessons, but when I was
told I HAD to practice every day, I lost the
will to play the guitar. And if I can make
music the way I do, while being musically
illiterate, why not continue this and forget
about putting my energy into learning to play
an instrument? Up 'till now I haven't
disappointed myself yet.
Just listen, that's all you're supposed to do
anyhow. :)

worry, things will turn out all
right."
