In Memory of September 11

The concert for New York took place in Madison Square Garden. It was five hours of entertainment of actors and musical guests. It gave the police and fire departments a good break that they very much deserved for all they went though. There were various fundraisers there to help raise money for the victim's families. Many held pictures up to the cameras when they past by of their loved ones that were lost in the terrible tragedy.

The performances were pretty well done. David Bowie opened the show then, Paul Simon played terrifically "America". Kevin Smith director of the films "Mallrats" and "Clerks" did a perspective of what New Yorkers thought of New Jersey. Jimmy Fallon was there too. He did one of his 1980's skits, he looked a good bit nervous but did a great job and was quiet comical. The best performers of the night, I thought, was The Who, also considering that this was one of the last performances they were to have with there bassist. Most of Police and Firemen lived back when they were popular so many of them were really excited about it and some even danced. It was a night to remember for all those that attended.

It is felt that this concert is not remember as a musical event but as a moment in history dedicated to all the victims of this terrible tragedy. You can buy the concert on DVD at local stores or order it online.
