This was the first album that I ever owned by Flogging Molly, and I have been a fan ever since I found this CD all the way back in 2002. The amount of energy in this album is unbelievable, from start to finish this album packs a punch that really can’t be topped even today, by any band in this genre
All of the songs have very profound meaning that is rooted in Irish tradition, shown in songs such as “The Kilburn High Road” and “Rebels of the Sacred Heart”.
There are a few slower songs that lean closer to Irish folk music such as “The Rare Ould Times” and “The Son Never Shines” and these songs really just as good as the fast paced rock songs, if for nothing else then the lyrical values. A stellar album all around and hard to top in this genre.
