Rapper T-Bone has been rapping for Christ for over ten years. He has six records loose and each has been true to life. In 2001 T-Bone released, Grammy and Dove award nominated ‘The Last Street Preacha’ after three years of being no where to be seen. At first it is hard to tell the difference between T-bones clean lyrics and the sometimes offensive lyrics of those in the secular world who discuss killing and drugs in their lyrics. When you read through the lyrics, included with the album, you realize that he does talk about killing, drugs, and women, but not as something he aspired to be a part of, rather, he explains what his life used to be like, and the dreams he used to have.

T-Bone grew up in California, which becomes obvious as T-Bone tells listeners what life in the "Cali Gangs" is like. He grew up in the gangs; he took part in every aspect of them, from the friendships and brotherhoods to the stealing and drugs, T-Bone knows what the meaning of gang is. He took an early start in rapping with connection through his gangs. ” My jump start in the rap business happened over nineteen years ago, which proves that I am not a novice at this. I started rapping at the tender age of seven. I would rap at parties and in rap battles. I was really close to getting a secular record deal back in the day. After I came to Christ, I opened for a noted rock group at that time and actually got signed that night. The rest is history.”

T-Bone admits he had big dreams, which are laid out in the Song “My Dream”. He tells us that he dreamed of being a drug king with a large drug empire. He dreamed of a Mafia, Godfather type world. He realized that didn’t give him any thing but pain, once he met Jesus he knew where his happiness laid. He is now a Christian rapper at the top of the charts and has been featured on MTV. He has a prominent roll in the new movie called “The Fighting Temptations” produced by Paramount and MTV, staring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyoncé Knowles of Destiny’s Child.

The Lyrics of “The Last Street Preacha” album are sharp and hit home. They express how life is, but this album is not just a rap CD. It’s well rounded, with softer songs, songs that just make you want to dance; others that make you feel what life was like for T-Bone. To add some ‘flava’, he included a few Spanish raps. “When you produce one sound or style, you limit yourself creativity wise. My intent was to reach all and not just a certain group of people. Music is a universal subject that everyone can relate to.” T-Bone told Gospelflava.

He speaks so quickly as he raps that you might not know what he is talking about, but you will be enthralled by T-Bones sharp quick raps and fun music. You will become addicted to the phatt loops, making you search out more T-Bone albums.
