Released in 2000 Jaci Velasquezs’ fourth album
Crystal Clear is an array of bright and inspirational song
about life and love for God. Starting out with a hot Latin
beat, "Escuchame" meaning ‘Listen to me’, is a
song to encourage young women to listen to the elder more
experienced people in their lives. With a flourish of
trumpets you will find yourself tapping your toes to this
lively song.
The dove award winning title track ‘Crystal
Clear’ is a love song that starts with a heavy down beat,
that will make you want to close your eyes and fall in to
the music. This song describes the feelings the heart
feels when in love. "For You, I would run away Just
to hear You calling out my name" is one captivating
line. Any one who has fallen in love before will relate very
much to this song.
The next award winning, top of the chart song
is called "Every time I fall". This light pop song
speaks of how every time a person falls they are lifted back
up. "Just when I think I'm not strong enough You reach
out to me and You lift me up”. The Theme of that song leans
right in to the next song, which is "You’re not
there". From the title you may be thinking "What
do you mean you’re not there?" but fear not. This song
is about how God is not far way, way out in the galaxy, but
it speaks of how God is so close he can hold you.
"Adore is another award winning track that
graces this album, which conveys the love of the singer to
her savior, Christ Jesus. Jumping back in to the light pop
genre "He’s my savior" comes out at you. The next
Latin pop song hits you "You don’t miss a thing",
with a style that is irresistible to dance to. This song is
the English version of "Pensando En Mi" which is
an identical sounding song on an later Spanish only album
called "Mi Corazon". Yet another award winning
song is next, "Imagine me with out" is a song
about not knowing what life would be like with out God,
unimaginable in the artists’ eyes. "Come as you
are" tells listeners not to worry about being unworthy
of the Love that is offered, but encouraged young and told
alike to come unafraid. With awe "Center of your
love" shows the wonder the artist has of feeling the
immeasurable love of her Father. Closing this wonderful
album "Just a prayer away" comes in with a soft
feel again making you want to plunge in to the sweet
melodies and be carried away.
