Evanescence is a group that has a rock beat and will be liked by almost anyone. Their music varies from song to song. First known as a Christian group then rock group, they have climbed the charts throughout their short time of being around.
They have been criticized by the Christain music world as not being a true group. Next to Creed, they seem to be lacking something. Their songs are a spiritual type but not as powerful for the meaning. When you look at the band, you really don't see the clean cut Christain group. More of a Goth look to them. But none the less, they have been appealing to everyone and anyone. "Bring Me To Life" was the first smash hit from the movie Dare Devil. Although the movie may not have hit record high, the music alone made it worth wild to see. When Evanescence hit the market, the cd was pretty much sold out in a couple of days in some stores around the US.
Fallen has been Certified 4x Platinum and is in the top ten for the 30th week. It also has sold 6 million copies worldwide. Talk about good for a start! They have also won 2 Grammys and are nominated for the Juno Awards, which is the world wide music awards.
